Massive Weight Loss Body Contouring

Successful weight loss with bariatric surgery is a life changing experience.  Often, people will lose the number of pounds that they ultimately weigh! When this happens, they are left with enough skin for two people.  Although they have achieved their goal weight, they may not be happy with the way they look and they still may not have the self confidence they had hoped for.  With the help of plastic surgery, self confidence and self esteem may be restored.

Surgical procedures to remove excess skin rejuvenate the face and redefine body contour:

  • Facial Rejuvenation: smooths the skin of the neck, removes jowls, makes cheeks fuller, and removes lines and wrinkles of the face and neck.
  • Breast Lift (Mastopexy):restores fullness to the breasts and gives them a lifted appearance
  • Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty): removes excess skin of the abdomen, tightens the abdominal muscles and contours the waist
  • Arm Lift (Brachioplasty): removes fat and excess skin of the arms, tightens the skin and gives a better contour to the arms
  • Thigh and Buttock Lifts:  remove excess skin of the buttocks and inner and outer thighs, improving the overall contour of the legs

Body contouring following massive weight loss is often performed in stages. An individualized approach to improving your body is designed with your personal goals, health, and safety in mind.

Panniculectomies

As of September 1, 2017, we will no longer perform panniculectomies.  A panniculectomy is a  reconstructive procedure performed to remove a pannus, or hanging flap of loose skin and fat, from the abdomen.  It is performed to treat recurrent infections if the lower abdominal skin folds.  Unlike an abdominoplasty, a panniculectomy does not involve abdominal muscle tightening and liposuction.  Please contact your insurance provider for a physician referral that offers this procedure.
